About Us

The LTMC programme consists of monthly weekend meets to areas such as Glencoe and the Cairngorms. Holiday weekends are used to travel further afield, for example to Skye or Torridon. Activities include hill-walking, climbing Munros and Corbetts, ski touring, and winter mountaineering, all in the company of likeminded people. The meet venues are chosen to be varied and interesting, offering opportunities for mountaineering activities at all levels. Being affiliated to the Mountaineering Scotland (MS), the club is able to access accommodation in mountaineering club huts in ideal locations such as Blackrock Cottage in Glencoe and the Ling Hut in Torridon.
A programme of mid-week meets caters for members with a flexible work pattern or are retired. Various social events are also organised throughout the year.

There is a wealth of experience within the club and existing members are happy to share this with guests and new members.

Join Us

We welcome new members and are confident you will really enjoy being a member of the LTMC. Although the club was founded by teachers - over 40 years ago! - many members are not teachers and everybody is welcome.
Meets are always very sociable affairs, where we enjoy days out on the hill together and an evening meal together.
